Reports to the Coordinator of Talent Acquisition and Development
Role Overview
To provide effective and efficient assistance to all stakeholders who call and visit the Center for Education Services. This position supports the Human Resources (HR) Department in meeting its goals and objectives.
Minimum Requirements
High School Diploma/GED.
Three (3) years of successful secretarial experience and/or advanced training.

Demonstrated skills in various software and electronic communication tools, including MS Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.) and Google Applications.

Ability to maintain strict confidentiality of sensitive employee information.
Ability to multitask, organize, and prioritize within a fast-paced office environment.

Ability to work extended hours to support on-site meetings held after hours.
Regular and predictable attendance is an essential function of this position.
Ability to perform the job's essential functions with or without reasonable accommodations.
Preferred Qualifications
AA Degree.
Experience in human resources.
Experience in Pre-Kindergarten - 12 education.
Role Responsibilities

  • Welcome and assist visitors to the Center for Education Services (CES) with a positive and helpful attitude as the CES receptionist.
  • Answer and route phone calls in a professional and friendly manner.
  • Process employee verifications.
  • Assist the Coordinator of Talent Acquisition and Development in managing human resources' social media accounts.
  • Provide support to talent acquisition and development efforts as assigned.
  • Provide CES lobby coverage during evening board of education meetings, typically twice a month.
  • Provide clerical support and complete projects as assigned within the HR Department.
  • Provide backup fingerprinting support.
  • Maintain a high level of confidentiality in all aspects of office business and assignments.
  • Demonstrate a courteous and professional demeanor to all Washington County Public Schools stakeholders.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

  • Required prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer and other office equipment.

  • Ability to maintain emotional control under stress.
  • Ability to move, raise, lower, and carry objects up to 20 lbs. on an irregular basis.
