- Participates in all departmental and interdisciplinary committees concerned with infection control policies.
- Facilitates compliance and established standards from regulatory agencies; participates in ongoing activities to correct deficiencies.
- Implements and maintains a system to detect/report nosocomial infections.
- Participates in defining, maintaining and interpreting standards of nursing practice and infection control.
- Interfaces with the Senior Vice President of Medical Affairs and department directors to set and participate in hospital-wide goals, initiatives and PI.
- Performs Environment of Care rounds providing feedback and follow-up.
- Participates actively in any hospital committee and disaster plan concerned with biologic agents.
- Works closely with Employee Health Services for the protection of Hospital Staff.
