Cookbook Market Highland Park is seeking an experienced General Manager to join our teamThe General Manager position at COOKBOOK MARKET is expected to accomplish the following:
- Create relationships with all guests and providing a welcoming environment through guest
- Interview, hire, onboard new employees.
- Ensure new employees are trained effectively.
- Write hourly staff schedules, manage time off and handle coverage as needed.
- Ensure hourly employees follow all break policies in effect at this location.
- Oversee organization and maintenance of cleanliness and ensure shelves and display cases
- Understand and manage labor, OT and break penalties and costs in the market, including
- Review labor daily and run payroll for all hourly employees
- Develop a good working knowledge of the financial aspects of the store.
- Communicate all challenges that arise on a daily basis with appropriate supervisors and
- Ensure a hospitable experience for all guests and maintain high guest satisfaction.
- Able to thoughtfully describe all store items and use this knowledge to provide suggestions
- Check out customers at the register, as needed, ensuring that all items have been rung in
- Communicate effectively with other store managers and buyers.
- Communicate with wine buyer regarding receiving, tagmaking, sales, and pertinent wine
- Understand high standards for food quality control to uphold Food Safety
- Create and maintain Sanitation and Cleaning standards following procedures and using proper
- Respect the facility picking up trash, cleaning up after yourself, taking the initiative to
- Oversee and ensure all opening and closing checklists are done properly.
- Work with a sense of urgency in a fastpaced environment and work in a timely and

- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty
