Our more than 140 team members help families navigate their child care and preschool options and secure financial assistance to pay for it.

We provide home-based child care businesses with the training and resources to succeed.

Through a wide range of free programs and workshops, we support parents and caregivers as they build child development skills.

As the city's second-largest nonprofit contractor, with an annual budget of over $240 million, we are a major stakeholder in the child care system.

Core Responsibilities:


Training

  • Collaborates with leadership to understand the organization's goals and strategy related to organizational training, staff engagement, and creating an inclusive culture.
  • Work with leadership and program teams to create and lead the execution of our professional development and training roadmap; seamlessly connect organizational goals into our performance management process (Trakstar); lead our annual review process and calibrate documentation and competencies so that there is alignment.
  • Partner with CHRO on strategic initiatives as it relates to creating training plans for staff, resources and opportunities for learning and development, and other HRrelated processes.
  • Support CHRO with your thought partnership and innovative ideas on workforce planning, training and development, performance management alignment.
  • Develop and implement trainings that support and move forward DEI goals and initiatives.
  • Cultivate relationships with outside facilitators to provide targeted trainings for staff (skill based, DEI, or program specific).
  • Support leadership with actively creating and tracking SMART goals in our learning management system; establishing goalsetting measures, identifying skill gaps and successful outcomes that culminate in our annual review process.

Human Resources

  • Supervises staff and manages employee performance; provides ongoing performance feedback, addresses problems, orients and trains employees, verifies competency and identifies and suggests way to develop skills.
  • Support and grow team members progress and professional development by maintaining an environment focused on growth mindset, collaboration, and feedback.
  • Through your thought partnership with the CHRO, you will support efforts to finetune and link HR organizational processes, and workflows to reflect our culture and learning initiatives.
  • When needed, you will execute special projects by identifying and clarifying issues and priorities; communicating and evaluating milestone accomplishments; evaluating alternative plans of action.
  • Oversees LMS vendor relationship and training facilitation; performs a cost benefit analysis of current services provided and monitors our ROI.
  • Other projects and duties as assigned.

Qualifications, Skills & Experience**:


  • A minimum of 5 years' experience working in HR, preferably for a midsized organization
  • A minimum of 3 years' experience implementing and conducting organizational trainings
  • Must have direct experience supervising staff
  • Must have project management experience (prioritizing, tracking, and managing competing priorities and deadlines) an ability to work in a fastpaced environment
  • Must have excellent written, oral communication skills
  • Must be detailoriented, organized, and resourceful
  • Experience working with HRIS platforms (Trakstar, Bamboo, or SAP Litmos)
  • Experience using project management software is an added bonus
  • PHR or SPHR certification preferred

Physical Requirements**:


  • Mental acuity to perform the essential functions of this position in an accurate and timely fashion.
  • Dexterity to use office equipment; the ability to sit and work at a desk for extended periods of time.
  • Ability to speak, hear, and understand speech at normal room levels.
  • Physical agility to bend, stoop, walk, climb four flights of stairs if required.
