Description
Role Description
In this role, you will execute combustion, thermal, and fluids analysis to define critical design requirements for our iron-air battery cell and system. Additionally, you will design mechanical components for thermal and fluid transfer, including verification testing of those components. This role will work closely with our systems engineering team to ensure that cells meet overarching product requirements. You will bring expertise in design and analysis of pressure relief features in metal and/or plastic materials, fabricated with stamping, molding, or related processes. Experience in rigorous testing of these mechanical engineering physics is also required
What you'll do:
Design sheet metal and plastic components and specify critical interfaces for implementation
Own analysis and prototyping efforts for sheet metal and plastic components; familiar with quick-turn fabrication methods to prove out design concepts
Develop and execute verification, validation, and reliability test plans to demonstrate sheet metal and plastic components meet functional and lifetime requirements
Engage with external sheet metal, stamping, molding, and other vendors to incorporate design-for-manufacturing feedback into your designs
Produce and release detailed 3D CAD models, 2D part and assembly drawings; define technical specifications (dimensional, functional, performance, manufacturing)
Perform tolerance analysis
