    Join our

    Neurology Team Position Responsibilities:
    Neurological management with physician oversight of patients to include infants, toddlers, preschoolers, school age, and adolescents.

    Demonstrated knowledge of the broad scope of neurological principles and care that may include but are not exclusive to:

    static, metabolic, or neurodegenerative encephalopathies, genetic syndromes, mental retardation, epilepsy, antiepileptic drug usage with side effects and interactions, and neuromuscular diseases.

    Performs physical exams, initial and interim histories during clinic visits, admissions, discharges, and consultations. Performs various procedures (i.e. Botox injections and baclofen pump refills). Dictates notes and findings to the electronic medical record for patient encounters. Assists in research projects and educating students and residents rotating through the neurology clinics. Assists and supports the nursing staff with clinical questions/issues, prescriptions, follow-ups, consults, etc. when not performing clinical duties.


    Education/Experience Requirements:
    Must be a graduate of a Master of Physician Assistant Studies or Advanced Practice Nurse program.

    Advanced Practice Nurse must hold a current Texas RN License and have graduated from a MSN program recognized by the Texas Board of Nursing Examiners.

    Physician Assistants must hold current licensure with the Texas Medical Board. Must be a graduate of an accredited AMA/CAHEA approved Physician Assistant program. National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA) certification and Baccalaureate degree required. Previous pediatric and/or neurology clinical experience preferred.

    Demonstrated knowledge and familiarity with the broad scope of neurological principles and care that may include but are not exclusive to:
