G&S Foods is a central PA based snack food company operating in Abbottstown, PA. We are a co-manufacturer of sweet and salty snacks from popcorn to chocolate-covered pretzels. We are hiring for
Process Operators. Be a part of our continued Growth & Success at G&S Foods Our Process Operator position is full-time with a
stable work shift throughout the year and great benefits including a $750 sign-on bonus, attendance bonuses, and employee appreciation events
Our Process Operators are reliable team members responsible for the set up and functioning of all production equipment. In addition, this person will perform PM's and adjustments to the equipment required for proper operation of the equipment.


Responsibilities:


  • Pretzel oven operations including oven control adjustment to meet moisture specifications
  • Caustic cooker operations including Cooker control adjustment to meet color / pH specifications.
  • Fryer operations including control adjustments.
  • Extruder operations including set up and adjustments.
  • Operating the forklift to supply kitchen / mixer operators with ingredients.
  • Mix seasonings per standard operating procedures.
  • Add seasoning to processing equipment per recipes.
  • Assist in quality assurance with samples of finished product
  • Follow proper Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP's) and standards and report violations
  • Follow safety procedures and report violations of safety
  • Setup and operate all equipment with a high degree of proficiency
  • Complete paperwork required for the production function
  • Work with mechanics to resolve machinery issues
  • Basic troubleshooting and troubleshoot equipment for maximum efficiency
  • Run samples to assist in establishing efficient and realistic standards
  • Communicate with warehouse for supplies needed (ingredients)
  • Ensure that work areas are clean at the end of shift each day and helps prepare lines for next for next shift's production
  • Other duties as assigned by leadership

Required Experience, Skills and Abilities:


  • Previous forklift experience required
  • Previous food processing experience required
  • A team player
  • Effective communication with team members
  • Attention to detail and familiarity with industrial equipment
  • Ability to work overtime as needed

Physical Requirements:


  • Frequently required to stand, walk, sit, use of hands and fingers to handle or feel and reach
  • Occasionally lift, carry, and move up to fifty (50) pounds
  • Specific vision abilities required of this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision and peripheral vision.

Shift Times:


  • 1st Shift: Monday to Friday, 6:30am2:30pm (hours can slightly vary)
  • 2nd Shift: Monday to Friday, 2:30pm11:00pm (hours can slightly vary)
