Outside Sales - Direct


Salary: 75,000-85,000 Base
Plus Comission

Position Overview:

The Outside Sales - Direct Team Member is responsible to secure new accounts and maintain relationships with existing accounts in order to secure additional business and/or sales.


Organizational Alignment:

  • Reports to the Outside Sales Team Leader
  • Participates as a member of the Outside Sales Business Area Team (BAT)
  • Fosters close, cooperative relationships with all team members and internal customers

Position Responsibilities:

  • Qualify and identify new accounts and sales opportunities with support from Marketing
  • Identify new prospective accounts via Cold Calling and Lead Generation
  • Close new item opportunities
  • Retain and grow existing accounts, while managing target account margins
  • Manage existing customer strategic relationships
  • Develop and deliver proposals/price quotes
  • Conduct needs assessment audit and explain audit report findings
  • Develop account penetration plan with Team Leader
  • Achieve assigned performance metrics, activity and results
  • Establish pricing guidelines within accounts
  • Absorb tooling costs within guidelines
  • Commit to ship/delivery dates within guidelines
  • Knowledge of StandFast capabilities
  • Educate and train customers regarding industry trends and StandFast capabilities
  • Stay current on industry trends and competitive landscape
  • Be a collaborative StandFast team member
  • Comply with StandFast policies, processes, and procedures
  • Be dedicated to personal career development through training and continuing education
  • Manage company expenses within guidelines

  • Activity: # of In-Person Sales Meetings

  • Result: $ Performance against Sales Quota

Knowledge, Skills and Attributes:

  • Understands and can communicate the package design, production and shipping process in a multimedia environment
  • Demonstrated proficiency in identifying stated and unstated business issues and tying them back to a business solutiona problem solver
  • Proven ability to assimilate new information quickly
  • Proven ability to think "outofthe box" in working with a customer in designing a corrugated packaging solution
  • Advanced listening and questioning skills
  • Advanced oral and written communication skills, including group presentations
  • Strong organization and time planning skills
  • A hunter, not a farmer

Education/Experience:
- in sales, preferably in custom corrugated

  • Minimum of 1 year of experience in a hunter role, where prospecting is a critical success factor
  • Completed a reputable B2B sales training program
  • Consistently ranked in the tophalf of the sales team
  • Minimum of 1 year of experience using a CRM system for activity reporting
  • Experience in following a documented consultative, selling process
  • A college degree in a business curriculum or engineering discipline is desirable

Environmental Job Requirements and Working Conditions:

  • Work is performed in a business office environment. Travel to company, customer and vendor sites, including some that are out of state will be required

Pay:
$75, $85,000.00 per year
