    Faculty - Crossnore's Center for Trauma Resilient Communities (CTRC)

    Job Summary:

    Crossnore's Center for Trauma Resilient Communities (CTRC) works alongside organizations and communities to embed and embody the science of trauma resilience.

    This position provides education, training, and skills development to organizations engaged with various CTRC projects, primarily in the Winston-Salem, NC, regional area.

    Faculty also offer ongoing organizational consultation with agencies to help them cultivate their capacity to build and sustain a trauma-resilient culture.

    The faculty is responsible for planning, developing, monitoring, and delivering training and consultation services to agency partners utilizing the Trauma Resilient Communities framework.

    This position is accountable for guiding organizations through a successful implementation of the TRC phases. Faculty must demonstrate passion for the mission, creativity, teamwork, vision, adaptability, attention to detail, and collaboration. Travel throughout the assigned area will be required.

    Location:
    Candidates must be within commuting distance to Winston-Salem, NC, with the ability to work onsite. Remote work occasionally considered.

    Hiring Range:
    $62,000 - $70,000 annually

    • Must successfully complete extensive background checks, interviews, and pre-hire drug screen.
    • Crossnore Communities for Children is requiring new hires (excluding those with an approved medical or religious exemption) to be vaccinated for COVID 19 as a condition of employment to help ensure the safety of all employees, youth and families served.

    QUALIFICATIONS
    Education/Experience


    • Bachelor's degree in Social Work, Psychology, Counseling, Industrial-Organizational Psychology, or related field required. A Master's degree with a professional license in one of these fields is strongly preferred.
    • 5+ years of full-time experience in developing and delivering in-classroom, webinars, eLearning, and blended training to adults in one of the above fields.
    • Prior experience working with trauma-informed practice implementation required; across multiple sites is strongly desired.
    • An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
    Skills/Competencies


    • Advanced knowledge of trauma-informed practice, resilience, well-being, organizational development, diversity, equity, and inclusion, with the ability to effectively turn key that information to adult learners through diverse instructional methods.
    • Thorough understanding of and experience with the Trauma Resilient Communities approach or similar, including knowledge of the science of trauma and trauma resilience.
    • Excellent interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills.
    • Experience working on a diverse team and with diverse social, cultural, economic, and educational constituencies.
    • Ability to deliver engaging and effective instruction, utilizing adult learning techniques to instruct adult participants with a diversity of learning styles and abilities.
    • Knowledge of instructional media in video, film, and slide presentations and the ability to create stand-alone presentations and incorporate them into training modules.
    • Proficiency in Google Workspace (G-Suite) is needed to produce and utilize effective presentations, reference materials, and end-user instructions.
    • Ability to respond effectively to feedback and adjust teaching strategies and styles to motivate learners and to respond to their needs.
    • Knowledge of social services, educational systems, and youth support programs is a plus.
    • Strong organizational skills and exhibit appropriate follow-through.
    • Proven ability to identify, cultivate, and manage relationships with diverse stakeholders.
    • Ability to exercise considerable judgment and discretion and to maintain confidentiality within and outside the organization.
    • Willingness to travel and work occasional nights/weekends.
    • Valid driver's license, and must be willing to drive to various job-related locations.

    JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Serve as one of the lead facilitators providing workshops, training, and consultation for organization and community partners engaged with the Center for Trauma Resilient Communities.
    • Conduct formal training through various modalities, including in-classroom, eLearning, webinars, and blended modalities.
    • Work with identified partner agencies to translate core concepts into relatable training sessions customized to their needs.
    • Provide relevant input to the content delivery strategy and the development of future learning opportunities to address learner needs and identified agency goals.
    • Participate in train-the-trainer (core champions) for ongoing internal sustainability and capacity building.
    • Use knowledge of adult learning and communication techniques to facilitate courses, meeting high-quality standards effectively.
    • Support communities of practice for projects by defining learning and support objectives, providing facilitation, access to resources, and follow-up for specific leaders who identify additional support needs.
    • Effectively prepare for sessions in advance of training and facilitation.
    • Collaborate with teammates for effective delivery of material.
    • Actively participate in meetings, project management, and workgroup sessions with CTRC team members or collaborators to advance CTRC projects.
    • Remain up-to-date on relevant CTRC content areas and the field of trauma, resilience, DEIB, well-being, and implementation science.
    • In collaboration with the CTRC leadership team, work with Crossnore staff to build connections, understanding, cross-department communication and coordination, alignment of goals and activities, and sharing of resources.
    • Collaborate in implementing evaluation tools to gauge the effectiveness of the learning programs and knowledge transfer.
    • Provide social media content and expertise to grow the CTRC's online profile.
    • Keep necessary documentation up-to-date and accurate regarding partnership management and consultation.
    • Participate in professional development sessions to improve platform and classroom management skills while applying the principles of adult learning methodology.
    • Modify instructional plans and approaches in response to feedback.
    • Support training projects by other faculty members.
    • Other duties as assigned.

    • Comply with all standards of accreditation and licensing agencies and adhere to all organizational policies, procedures and program guidelines.
    • Use Crossnore Communities for Children resources efficiently and conservatively, including time, facilities, vehicles, equipment, supplies and funds.
    • Assume responsibility for personal and professional development through appropriate use of regular supervision (individual or group), participating in meetings, maintaining continuing education requirements, licensure and certifications and attendance at classes, workshops, etc. to improve professional skills.
    • Maintain professional conduct and image to actively promote the mission, value and purpose of Crossnore Communities for Children.
    • Ensure the provision of quality services through participation in Crossnore Communities for Children Performance Quality Improvement (PQI).

    DAYS/HOURS OF POSITION and WORK CONDITIONS:
    Work is primarily performed in an office, community, or classroom setting, Monday-Friday. Flexible scheduling required, depending on program needs; occasional travel required. Onsite work required, with minimal work from home occasionally permitted.

    Position may require lifting to 20 pounds at a time with frequent lifting or carrying of objects weighing up to 10 pounds.

    Frequent walking, standing, and sitting. Frequent reaching and/or grasping using hands and/or arms. May be required to ascend/descend stairs. Frequent use of hands requiring dexterity in using the telephone, computer keyboard, or other objects. Visual ability including distance, peripheral and depth perception. Ability to drive. Regularly required to talk and hear.
