    VDC/BIM Engineer

    Bozeman, Montana

    Mechanical Contracting / HVAC pipefitting and plumbing

    PRIMECH Recruiting is partnered with a well-established Mechanical Contractor located in Bozeman, Montana, specializing in providing high-quality mechanical construction services.Our client is growing their in-house engineering team and boasts state-of-the-art VDC equipment.We are seeking a motivated and experienced VDC/BIM Engineer with a strong background in plumbing and pipefitting.

    Job Description:

    VDC/BIM Engineers play a crucial role in implementing Virtual Design and Construction (VDC) and Building Information Modeling (BIM) processes to optimize project outcomes. You will be responsible for creating and managing accurate 3D models, coordinating with project teams, and ensuring the successful integration of plumbing or HVAC systems within the overall construction project.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Develop accurate 3D models of plumbing or HVAC systems using BIM software (e.g., Autodesk Revit).
    • Collaborate with project teams to ensure seamless integration of plumbing or HVAC systems within the overall building design.
    • Conduct clash detection analyses to identify and resolve conflicts between various building systems.
    • Prepare Bill of Materials for material ordering
    • Work closely with multidisciplinary teams to mitigate clashes and optimize system coordination.
    • Continuously update and maintain BIM models to reflect as-built conditions during construction phases.
    • Document and manage changes in the models and ensure they align with project requirements.
    • Facilitate effective communication and collaboration among project stakeholders, including architects, engineers, contractors, and subcontractors.
    • Provide technical support and guidance to project teams regarding BIM processes and best practices.
    • Implement quality control procedures to ensure accuracy and consistency in BIM models and associated documentation.
    • Conduct regular reviews to verify compliance with project specifications and industry standards.

    Qualifications:

    • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering preferred.
    • Strong experience in plumbing or HVAC system design and construction within the mechanical contracting industry.
    • Proficiency in BIM software, such as Autodesk Revit MEP, AutoCAD, Bluebeam Revu, CAM duct, Fabrication CADMEP, Procore, and Navisworks.
    • Solid understanding of Virtual Design and Construction (VDC) principles and methodologies.
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with diverse project teams.
    • Detail-oriented with the ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize work in a fast-paced environment.
