Job Functions
This is a 6 Month Assignment
The Operations Specialist will play a key role in assisting our client by assuring the highest level of safety, health and environmental standards while achieving maximum production and profitability.
Responsibilities
- Support all power plant operations and maintenance activities ensuring safety, regulatory, and environmental compliance while maximizing profits and minimizing expenses.
- Collaborate with the Plant Personnel and Interconnect entities to coordinate activities and interaction with scheduling, marketing, and reporting.
- Respond to alarms and malfunctions of power plant operations and take the necessary corrective measures including coordination of corrective actions with onsite personnel, notification of customers, management and interconnection entities.
- Maintain control room log and create work orders in the CMMS system.
Skills:
- Ability to coordinate multiple activities and ensure safety, quality and schedule adherence.
- Ability to take direction, identify problems, develop solutions, conduct analysis independently and in collaboration with others
- Ability to work in difficult customer situations
- Proficient computer skills using MS Excel, MS Project, MS Word, and Outlook
- Experience working with plant systems and computerized maintenance management systems. (Maximo)
- Development of Procedures and Processes.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 2 years' experience as an operator or in a field technician position or equivalent, preferably in a power plant, factory or switching center.
- Able to demonstrate competent technical knowledge of plant and system processes and experience in operating electrical and SCADA systems.
- Possess knowledge of functional systems interactions and must be able to pay attention to critical elements in a complex and regulated environment
