Job Functions
This is a 6 Month Assignment

The Operations Specialist will play a key role in assisting our client by assuring the highest level of safety, health and environmental standards while achieving maximum production and profitability.

The Operations Specialist will be responsible for coordinating day to day operations activities.


Responsibilities

• Support all power plant operations and maintenance activities ensuring safety, regulatory, and environmental compliance while maximizing profits and minimizing expenses.
• Collaborate with the Plant Personnel and Interconnect entities to coordinate activities and interaction with scheduling, marketing, and reporting.
• Respond to alarms and malfunctions of power plant operations and take the necessary corrective measures including coordination of corrective actions with onsite personnel, notification of customers, management and interconnection entities.
• Maintain control room log and create work orders in the CMMS system.

Skills:

• Ability to coordinate multiple activities and ensure safety, quality and schedule adherence.
• Ability to take direction, identify problems, develop solutions, conduct analysis independently and in collaboration with others
• Ability to work in difficult customer situations
• Proficient computer skills using MS Excel, MS Project, MS Word, and Outlook
• Experience working with plant systems and computerized maintenance management systems. (Maximo)
• Development of Procedures and Processes.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years' experience as an operator or in a field technician position or equivalent, preferably in a power plant, factory or switching center.
• Able to demonstrate competent technical knowledge of plant and system processes and experience in operating electrical and SCADA systems.
• Possess knowledge of functional systems interactions and must be able to pay attention to critical elements in a complex and regulated environment
