BROAD SCOPE OF POSITION:

Act under the supervision of licensed nursing personnel and direct supervision of a Certified Caregiver to carry out all duties of assistance (including housekeeping, serving of food, laundry, and activities) to residents of Sedona Winds Assisted Living Community.

Responsible for handling residents in a manner conducive to their safety, dignity, and emotional and physical well being.

Responsible for executing all duties within the guidelines of local and State law and Sedona Winds policies and procedures and resident rights.


ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:


  • Assist residents with activities of daily living, within the guidelines of state law and Sedona Winds policies and procedures of Assistant Caregiver
  • Collect, launder, and distribute residents' personal laundry, including bed linens. Follow all policies governing infection control and hazardous waste.
  • Assist all residents in participating in planned activity program seven days per week
  • Prepare residents for meals and snacks and assist residents in dining room.
  • Keep proper records of care given
  • Follow all safety and infection control policies and procedures
  • Maintain cleanliness of resident rooms, common areas, offices and corridors as outlined Sedona Winds housekeeping procedures. Ensure all areas are safe
  • Attend all required inservice training
  • Comply with and understand all resident rights
  • Communicate all pertinent information to L.P.N
  • Communicate with oncoming shift to ensure follow through of duties
  • Report unsafe or hazardous conditions immediately

NON-ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

PHYSICAL & SENSORY REQUIREMENTS OF POSITION:

(With or without the aid of mechanical devices)

  • Walking & Sitting
  • Reaching, lifting, and grasping
  • Transferring residents
  • Pushing and pulling
  • Distinguishing smells, tastes, and temperatures
  • Reading and writing
  • Communication skills
  • Maintain composure under stress
  • Hear and respond to resident emergency call system
  • Be able to identify and assist in emergency medical situations

EDUCATION REQUIRED:


  • High school diploma or equivalent education or
  • Be at least 16 years of age

ENVIRONMENTAL FACTORS:

SPECIAL SKILLS OR REQUIREMENTS:


  • Communicate effectively with residents, families, staff, community andState officials and general public
  • Compassion and desire to work with frail and elderly
  • Must meet all State health requirements
  • Must be able to work on a full or part time regular schedule and oncall as needed

$16.00 per hour
