The Promotions Team is responsible for the reviewing, entering, auditing, and testing promotional offers. The team owns Coupon Central and works to identify valid and fraudulent coupon and discounting activities.

The team serves as a liaison between the Phoenix Home Office and stores ensuring that promotions operate as intended, pricing activities are optimized, and all pricing is effectively communicated to our pet parents through various price labels and signage.

The team works cross functionally with multiple teams within Store Operations, Merchandising and Marketing to ensure all processes that impact pricing in our stores are streamlined and work efficiently.

The team supports merchant and marketing functions to enable process-driven decisions and execute corporate strategies leading to greater company profitability throughout stores in the US, PR and CA.


About the Location

Hybrid Position:

This position may be considered Hybrid based on PetSmart's FlexSmart policy and business needs. A Hybrid work arrangement is considered to be a blend of onsite and remote work activity.

Associates with a Hybrid work arrangement have a work space at Phoenix Home Office and can be required to come onsite between 1-5 days a week as determined by leadership and based on business needs.


About the Job


The Promotions Analyst is responsible for supporting several pricing-specific processes that support all stores by working with key business partners in Buying & Sourcing, Merch Planning & Allocation, Store Operations, Services, IS, Real Estate, Loss Prevention and Finance.

Partners with the Marketing and Merchandising teams to ensure all promotional offers are reflected accurately in the appropriate pricing systems and on customer facing pricing labels and signage.

Manages the communication of pricing and promotional activity to the stores and provides store feedback to the business to drive process improvements.

This position shares responsibility for planning, auditing, and implementing promotional and base price changes.


Essential Functions:

  • Provides promotional system and offer guidance to the business ensuring pricing and promotional systems can accurately support offer intent, maximize impact and minimize risk.
  • Collaborates with key business partners to improve processes and communication which include monitoring offers, identify areas of opportunity and resolving any AMS promotional related issues.
  • Partners with Buying & Sourcing, Merch Planning & Allocation, Store Operations, Services, IS, Real Estate and Supply Chain to ensure seamless communication and execution of all pricing activity for daytoday pricing activity, promotions and special projects.
  • Provides feedback to PHO business partners to drive continuous improvement. Ensures information housed in various promotional systems are aligned and accurate. Create, contribute enhance new or existing training documentation.
  • Ensures accuracy of all information housed in various promotional systems.
  • Supports the Sr. Promotions Analyst with Coupon Central projects, site maintenance and communications.
  • Supports store level pricing integrity by researching and resolving store issues and communicating resolutions to the field.
  • Creates auditing tools and processes to ensure the accuracy of base and promotional pricing as well as customer facing label and signage verbiage.

Minimum Qualifications

Experience:

Bachelor's degree in Retailing or Business and a minimum of two years of related experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Two years of experience in retail or business preferred.


Knowledge and Skills:

  • Expert understanding of offer interactions within the Advanced Marketing System (AMS)
  • Ability to synthesize multiple data sets into a coherent story
  • Ability to remain organized with a strong attention to detail and deliver to critical deadlines
  • Analytical, with strong problemsolving abilities and creative resolution skills
  • Ability to work effectively in a dynamic environment and manage multiple priorities
  • Selfdirected independent thinker

Certifications/Licenses/Registrations:
None


Preferred Requirements:
Two years retail experience in retail or business preferred. Knowledge of corporate promotional pricing processes.
