Overview
We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Grill Cook to join our culinary team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for food preparation and a strong background in cooking, with experience in fine dining, food safety, and menu planning. This role offers an opportunity to showcase culinary talents in a dynamic environment, contributing to the creation of high-quality dishes that delight our guests. The Grill Cook will be responsible for preparing and cooking grilled items according to established recipes and standards, ensuring consistency and excellence in every plate served.
Duties
- Prepare and cook grilled dishes such as steaks, burgers, seafood, and vegetables with precision and attention to detail
- Follow menu specifications and presentation standards to ensure quality and consistency
- Maintain proper food handling, storage, and sanitation procedures in compliance with food safety regulations
- Assist in menu planning by suggesting new grilled items or improvements to existing recipes
- Ensure all kitchen equipment is clean, well-maintained, and operational for efficient workflow
- Collaborate with kitchen staff to coordinate meal preparation during busy service times
- Monitor inventory levels of ingredients needed for grilling and communicate shortages or needs to management
- Adhere to all health and safety guidelines to provide a safe working environment
Experience
- Previous experience in dietary department or dietary aide roles is advantageous
- Proven background in food preparation, cooking, and food service within restaurant or catering settings
- Experience with menu planning, meal preparation, and food industry standards preferred
- Strong knife skills and familiarity with various cooking techniques required
- Knowledge of food safety practices and proper food handling procedures essential
- Fine dining or culinary experience is a plus, demonstrating attention to detail and presentation skills
- Prior experience working in a kitchen environment involving food industry regulations and standards is highly desirable
