- Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) for students who are deaf or hard of hearing, incorporating appropriate accommodations and instructional strategies.
- Provide direct instruction in language development, communication skills, literacy, and academic subjects tailored to students' abilities and goals.
- Collaborate with educational teams, including speech-language pathologists, audiologists, and other professionals, to support students' overall development and academic success.
- Utilize assistive technology and resources to enhance learning opportunities and facilitate communication access for students with hearing loss.
- Foster a supportive and inclusive classroom environment that celebrates diversity and promotes student engagement and achievement.
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Deaf Education, Special Education with a focus on Deaf and Hard of Hearing, or a related field.
- Valid teaching credential or licensure in Deaf Education or Special Education (with a DHH endorsement) preferred.
- Experience working with students who are deaf or hard of hearing in educational settings.
- Knowledge of American Sign Language (ASL) or willingness to learn.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team.
