Summary
Provides indirect patient care and support services to meet patient and department environmental needs. Conducts housekeeping tasks, patient escort, stocking and distribution, material transport, and equipment and supply maintenance. Maintains flexibility to assist all areas of the Invasive Cardiology Suite. Provides cross-campus coverage, as needed.


Job Duties

  • Performs effective cleaning and disinfection of procedural rooms after cases, as well as patient bays in holding and recovery in a timely manner to maintain productivity and efficiency of the Invasive Cardiology Suite. Maintains an overall clean environment.
  • Works closely with staff to stock and ensure availability of supplies.
  • Ensures timely delivery of supplies to be sterilized to SPD at designated times throughout the shift.
  • Assists with transportation of the patients to and from the procedural rooms, holding and recovery area upon discharge. Monitors if additional beds, stretchers, or wheelchairs are needed and available.
  • Promotes a positive patient experience and in partnering with all members of the Invasive Cardiology Suite to provide excellence in customer service.
  • Performs appropriate care and handling of patient specimens.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Must be 18 years old or older
  • Demonstrates sound judgment. Demonstrates mature and conscientious behavior.
  • Demonstrates the ability to adapt and accept change.
  • American Heart Association Basic Life Support
  • State of Pennsylvania within 60 Days

Physical Demands
Lift and carry 40-50 lbs


Examples:
Push/pull patients on bed, stretcher (requires 29 lbs. push force), lateral transfers up to 50 lbs. of the patient's weight. Frequent to continuous standing/walking. Patient transporters can walk 8-10 miles per shift.

*Patient care providers may be required to perform activities specific to their role including kneeling, bending, squatting and performing CPR.
