Description
Job Responsibilities
Operates medium equipment such as tandem dump truck in the hauling of various materials such as pipe, asphalt, dirt, sand and coquina which is used in the maintenance of state highways and right-of-ways.
Repairs potholes and base surface failures of roadway using hand tools such as shovel, pick, rake, and asphalt lute to level asphalt as needed.
Assists with the placement of traffic control devices to properly set up a maintenance work zone. Serves as a flagger to safely direct and control traffic in maintenance work zones. Flags traffic during road repairs to control flow of traffic to protect workers, general public, and equipment. Assists in emergency and inclement weather operations, may include extended hours and or 12 hour shifts.THIS IS A RE-ADVERTISEMENT. PREVIOUS APPLICANTS NEED NOT RE-APPLY. Minimum and Additional Requirements
Six (6) months of related work experience; or an approved acceptable equivalence in accordance with State Human Resources Regulations
Necessary Special Requirement:
A valid motor vehicle operator's license. Requires attainment of a Class A Commercial Driver's License (CDL) within six (6) months of placement in the position.
