$70,000 - $80,000

The Opportunity:


As the Director of Place-Based Initiatives, you'll spearhead targeted initiatives addressing the unique needs of specific neighborhoods within our community.

Key Responsibilities:


  • Develop and implement strategic plans for placebased initiatives aligned with organizational goals.
  • Conduct community needs assessments to identify neighborhood strengths, challenges, and priorities.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to develop tailored initiatives addressing identified needs.
  • Lead project planning, implementation, and evaluation efforts, ensuring ontime, withinbudget delivery.
  • Foster partnerships with key stakeholders, leveraging resources to support initiative goals.
  • Engage residents and community leaders, ensuring initiatives are responsive to community needs.
  • Advocate for policies supporting community development and equitable outcomes.
  • Provide leadership and supervision to program staff and volunteers.
  • Monitor and report on the progress and impact of placebased initiatives, using data for continuous improvement.
  • Represent EHCEC in meetings, conferences, and public forums, advocating for placebased community development.

Professional Skills & Requirements:


  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in urban planning, community development, or related field; Master's degree preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in community development, including managing placebased initiatives, including three years in a supervisory role.
  • Strong project management skills, leadership abilities, and communication skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to build and maintain effective partnerships with diverse stakeholders.
  • Proficiency in Google Suite and project management tools.
  • Commitment to EHCEC's mission and values, with a passion for creating positive change.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fastpaced environment.
  • An entrepreneurial spirit that can identify emerging opportunities.
  • Current and valid driver's license.

Physical Conditions:

The staff person must be able to attend meetings on nights and weekends as needed. EHCEC is a collaborative work setting. Employees pitch in to help each other with responsibilities as needed. Team members will be expected to contribute to teamwork and a sense of collaboration.
