Job Description Material Handler II (CLS) (1st Shift) - Stockton CA V6 ) **Description**
**Overview:**
The Material Handler II participates in daily warehouse activities and provides support and communication to our customer & vendors through safe, professional, efficient, cost effective and accurate handling of their products, and service needs.
**Responsibilities:**
This position is responsible for, but not limited to, the following:
Warehousing/Clerical:
Accurately locate and pick, both by hand and by using appropriate motorized equipment (i.e. forklift truck), customer product onto/from pallets, trays, racks, and shelves according to established procedures and safety regulations.
Complete stretch wrapping, labeling, and consolidating as required for order.
Load picked orders according to APLL Operating policies and procedures, completing appropriate paperwork including Bill of Lading, Pick Report, Trailer Audit, Lot Verification.
Unload, move, stack, and stage customer products and materials, both by hand and using forklift or other power equipment.
May assign trailers to appropriate dock and/or yard location, chocking the wheels, following all safety rules and company policy.
Daily inspection of motorized equipment, follows safety and maintenance instructions, and completes pre-work inspection sheet at the beginning of each shift; reports immediately any defective equipment to supervisor.
Assists in Housekeeping Process to insure that the facility is maintained in a clean, neat, safe, and orderly manner.
Assists in Cycle count and reporting process, and physical inventory, ensuring inventory is accurate.
Assists in processing, and coordination of Specific customers (Amazon, Wayfair, Home Depot, Ace Hardware, Grainger) and Special Accounts orders.
Assists in the scheduling of Inbound and Outbound loads.
Provides other services such as sanitation requirement activities, assembling crates (boxes) to contain products, and/or moving loose materials to containers as directed by supervisor and/or team leader.
Participates in Safety and 5S requirements
**Key Result Areas:**
Apply the APL Logistics Continuous Improvement (ACI) Model for operational efficiency to improve business process, increase proficiency and increase efficiency through waste elimination.
Apply the 5S Lean methodology to sustain a safe, clean and orderly facility.
Position requires the incumbents performance to meet and occasionally exceed standards as set by the company for safety, quality, and productivity and customer services.

**Qualifications:**
High School degree or equivalent required
Forklift experience required
Knowledge of inventory control and general warehouse procedures
Ability to read and comprehend basic instructions, to interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedures
Ability to learn to utilize on board computers, scanners and new technology
Ability to write legibly
Must have basic inventory knowledge/experience
Data entry skills
Must have knowledge of Microsoft Office, including Excel and Spreadsheet creation
Ability to communicate in a professional and positive manner
Must have attention to detail for continuous mental and visual attention
Must be a Team Player
**Additional Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:**
1-2 years warehouse or related work experience preferred
