Safety Coordinator - Baytown, United States - Palmer Distribution Services Inc
Description
Responsibilities for entry level role:
- This position ensures all safety guidelines and regulations outlined by the Company Safety Manual, OSHA, Hazardous Material regulations, and any other applicable EHS standards are followed.
- Conduct safety audits consisting of identifying hazards, ensuring equipment, warning signs, tools and other material handling equipment are maintained, checked or posted properly
- Assist with incident/accident investigations
- Evaluate and log waste manifest
- Assist with drills
- Assist with risk evaluation process to identify potential hazards to reduce risks of injury or health hazards in the workplace
- Report unsafe conditions to management for a timely resolution
- Will be backup for Palmer training program
Requirements:
- Professional communication skills; verbal and written
- Detail oriented, organized, analytical
- The ability to problem solve
- Ability to multitask
- Strong data entry skills; accuracy
- Able to lift up to 50lbs and adjust body to bend, push, pull, stretch, stoop, squat and grab; walking and sitting for extended periods
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite; Word, Excel, Outlook
- Bilingual preferred, not required
- Team Player
- Highschool Diploma, G.E.D.
