Our company is located in Joliet, Illinois, been in business for 35 years and is a full stocking distributor of, you guessed itrope and cordage.
Most likely, when you signed in to look at a new job you had no idea you would be reading a description for an "Account Manager" opportunity with a rope company.
In addition, it's our guess that you probably have zero knowledge of the rope industry. If that is the case, then don't worry, we can teach you what you need to know.
What we really need is someone to enter customer orders in our computer system and then manage those orders as they work their way through the fulfillment process.
We are looking for someone who can take charge, learn new skills and show initiative in performing this job at a professional level.
Here is what you would be doing- Entering orders into our order entry software system
- Working with our rope mills and other vendors to place purchase orders for rope.
- Working alongside our onsite warehouse and production shop to facilitate timely shipping of outgoing orders and/or production of custom rope assemblies
- Communicating with our rope production mills about upcoming or current orders to ensure efficient delivery to customers.
- Preparing quotes for customers on stock or custom orders.

- Knowledge of Microsoft Excel
- Ability to type with a speed of 40 WPM or greater
- Friendly and professional phone voice
- Knowledge of Mac computers is very helpful
- Knowledge of computer keystroke shortcuts
- Experience using an enterprise grade phone system (PBX)
- Complete honesty and integrity in all you do and say
This company is growing and has a ton of potential for your future growth with the organization. And if you have ambition you can do a lot here.
One thing you need to know about this work locationit's a little rough. The office and production shop are older and the parking lot and entrance street are not paved.
We do have up to date computers and phone technology but if you need a modern office with the latest new things then this job might not be for you.
On the other hand, this is a small company that does big things. We have 8 employees and you can definitely make a difference here.
