Description:

These positions are one semester appointments, part time, non-benefits eligible with no tenure implications. A typical Faculty Associate course load is one to two classes per semester.


Teaching duties include:

preparing course materials, responding to and evaluating student work, and availability for one-on-one assistance (via weekly office hours for on-campus classes and electronically for online classes).

The number of courses is contingent upon needs, funding, and sufficient enrollment. Individuals hired as Faculty Associates may not hold multiple, non-benefits-eligible appointments at Arizona State University. Salary is based upon qualifications and assigned teaching load.

Qualifications:


Required Minimum Qualifications for a Faculty Associate Position:

A degree in a related design discipline OR two (2) years of professional experience working in a related design discipline with a focus area specified as follows; OR any equivalent combination of experience and/or education from which comparable knowledge, skills and abilities have been achieved.


Desired Qualifications for a Faculty Associate Position:

  • Evidence of teaching effectiveness at the baccalaureate or graduate (if applicable) level
  • Demonstrated knowledge of design methodologies and practice
