    Summary/Objective

    The Director of Human Resources is directly responsible for the overall administration, coordination and evaluation of the human resource function. The HR Director will be a services and solutions provider to the operating group. They will maintain and enhance the organizations human resources function by implementing and evaluating team member relations and human resources polices, programs and practices.

    Essential Functions

    1. Annually reviews and makes recommendations to executive management for improvement of policies, procedures and practices on personnel matters
    2. Maintains knowledge of industry trends and employment legislation and ensures compliance
    3. Maintains responsibility for compliance with federal and state legislation pertaining to all personnel matters
    4. Communicates changes in personnel policies and procedures and ensures proper compliance is followed
    5. Assists executive management in the annual review, preparation and administration of wage and salary program
    6. Coordinates or conducts exit interviews to determine reasons behind separation
    7. Consults with legal counsel on personnel matters as appropriate
    8. Oversees talent acquisition and onboarding processes
    9. Works directly with department managers to assist them in carrying out their responsibilities on personnel matters
    10. Recommends, evaluates and participates in staff development
    11. Supervises the staff of the human resource department
    12. Participates on committees and special projects and seeks additional responsibilities

    Supervisory Responsibility

    This position has supervisory responsibilities upon hiring. Direct reports include human resources managers and representatives.

    Physical Demands

    The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by a team member to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.

    While performing the duties of this job, the team member is regularly required to talk and hear. This position is active and requires standing, walking, bending, kneeling, and stooping. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.

    Position Type/Expected Hours of Work

    This is a full-time position, and the expected work hours are decided by the hiring manager.

    Travel

    Travel would be minimal and would be primarily local during the business day.

    Required Education and Experience

    1. Bachelor's degree from four-year College or university
    2. 7+ years of direct experience
    3. Professional in Human Resources or comparable HR certification preferred
    4. Ability to effectively respond to and interact with all levels of organizational staff, including executives
    5. Competencies include excellent presentation/facilitation, organizational, analytical, interpersonal and written/oral communication skills
    6. Requires high level computer expertise, including use of database, word processing, spreadsheet, and presentation applications
    7. Flexible, innovative in a fast paced, growth-oriented and time-critical environment

    Work Authorization/Security Clearance:

    Must be legally authorized to work in the United States.
