**LEHIGH CAREER & TECHNICAL INSTITUTE**Position Description
Position Title:
Accountant
Qualifications/Certification:
- Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Finance, preferred
- Minimum of three (3) years' experience in governmental accounting,
data systems management required
- Proficiency with Google Suite
- Strong analytical and mathematical aptitude
- Displays high standards, sound judgment, accuracy and attentive to
Reports To/Supervised By:
Business Administrator
Responsibilities:
- Perform the financial accounting and reporting for the school
- Maintain a financial reporting system to allow for the analysis of funds used,
school
- Set up the accounting calendar for the fiscal year
- Analyze cash flow and prepare financial statements for all funds on a monthly basis
- Ensure that all general journal, adjusting, accrual entries, and budget amendments
- Perform internal audit activity when requested by Business Administrator,
- Work with Payroll, Purchasing, Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, and
- Assist Business Administrator with the budgeting process as required
- Monitor and account for all grants
- Prepare accurate financial reports for all school funds, federal programs, state
- Account for the receipt and expenditures of all school funds by maintaining
auditing
- Prepare school financial records for annual audits and special audits
- Maintain a valid chart of accounts
- Monitor and verify the wage and tax statements to employees and vendors
- Manage school's banking relationships, investment of school funds according to
- Administer school revenues via preparation of Member District billings and
- Provide sound fiscal management and support services
- Remit all debt service payments and monitor Trustee statements
- Recommend internal changes in policy and procedures in order to remain
- Provide assistance to Adult Education's Title IV funding program
- Account for all Flexible Spending Account activity
- Perform all accounting functions in accordance with all federal, state, GAAP, and
- Monitor the Fixed Asset Inventory System
Secondary/Related Responsibilities:
- Maintain filing of all paperwork, electronic records and reports pertinent to position
- Assist Distribution Center and Cafeteria operations in maintaining complete and
- Perform other duties as assigned
