Education

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration/Management, Finance, Economics, Public Policy, Mathematics, Statistics, Accounting, or related field

Experience

  • At least, one year of finance, accounting and/or financial data analysis experience

Job Summary


The Financial Analyst II is a support position responsible for development and production of financial analysis reports, budget documents, and ensures transactions, systems and procedures comply with regulations, accounting principles and standards.

Applies in depth knowledge typically obtained through education along with internal experience to explain findings. Prepares worksheets used to gather and track budget data. Performs calculations in support of budget development. Analyzes and provides technical assistance in preparing budgets and analysis.


ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Participates in the preparation and justification of the Authority's budget
  • Maintains continuing contact with cross functional stake holders across the Authority to assess impact of budgetary and financing issues
  • Monitors real time performance against budget, identifying and analyzing variations Evaluates budgets, analyzing revenues and expense
  • Performs financial forecasting, reporting, and operational metrics tracking
  • Reviews and analyzes trends and forecasts to recommend actions for optimization
  • Analyzes financial data and provides assistance in creating financial models for decision support
  • Reports on financial performance and prepares for regular leadership reviews
  • Analyzes past results, performs variance analysis, identifies trends, and makes recommendations for improvements
  • Works closely with the accounting team to ensure accurate financial reporting
  • Performs research and analyzes financial data to recommend quality improvement to current processes
  • Develops adhoc and special reports summarizing project status/results, presentations to functional management and provides recommendations impacting business decisions
