Position Summary

The Accounting Manager is a full-time staff position responsible for designing and enforcing control processes and procedures in coordination with the Finance Director and CFO along with day-to-day oversight of the accounting team.

This position reports to the Finance Director.

Primary Responsibilities

Directly supervise and develop Finance department team: Senior and Staff Accountant, Cash team lead, and AR Specialist
Indirectly supervise develop the AP and Cash teams
Plan for and manage the annual audit process working with both internal team members and external auditors to complete on schedule
Assist with definition and documentation of control policies and procedures
Coordinate with other leaders throughout the ministry to ensure meaningful understanding/best use of financial data
Work with external tax experts to prepare and file corporate tax records
Reconcile Accounts and other tasks as defined by month end closing procedures.
Support Finance department leadership on special projects as needed.

Education And Experience

Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or related field.
5+ years of progressive accounting experience, ideally in a non-profit organization.
Ability to effectively present financial information and respond to questions from all levels of the organization.
