    Senior Tax AssociatePosition Summary: The company is a $120 Million certified public accounting and advisory firm headquartered in Troy, Michigan with offices in Houston, Miami, Dallas, Charlotte, Tampa, Grand Rapids, Zurich, and London. A rising firm that is consistently named among the 50 best-managed firms in the nation and is recommended by 98% of their clients.The company is seeking a Senior Tax Associate to join their Troy, MI office. Their associates have the opportunity to work with a variety of clients in industries such as manufacturing, construction, dealership, real estate, wholesale and distribution, retail and more. They offer a diversified experience in public accounting, providing their employees with many opportunities to grow, develop and advance within their careers. This is a full-time, direct hire opportunity in Troy, MI Position Responsibilities:
    • Lead preparation of various tax returns including individuals, C-Corp, S-Corp, partnerships, trust, estate, etc. for clients in a variety of industries
    • Demonstrate advanced technical aptitude of taxation and can handle complex returns and projects with confidence.
    • Utilize analytical and decision-making skills to solve complex technical issues.
    • Review the work of less experienced associates and provide guidance/mentorship to assist them in developing technical skills.
    • Build strong client relationships and ensure client needs are being met.
    • Maintain timely and accurate communication with team and clients to manage expectations, deadlines, and deliverables.
    • Ability to train new employees on firm technology, processes, and procedures.
    • Present new ideas and improvements for ways of performing tasks in order to achieve firm and departmental goals.
    • Seek opportunities to participate in practice development to build network of referral sources.
    Minimum Requirements:
    • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting.
    • CPA License preferred but not required.
    • Willingness to pursue Master's Degree in Taxation or Master's Degree in Accounting
    • Minimum of 3 years' experience in domestic tax at public accounting firm
    • Ability to manage people with differing personalities to meet the needs of the firm and clients.
    • Demonstrated leadership qualities and ability to train interns and associates.
    • Excellent oral and written communication skills
    • Ability to work independently, but also in a team environment.
    • Ability to adapt quickly to new technology platforms.
    • Ability to manage multiple projects/clients and deadlines.
    • CCH Axcess software experience a plus
