Teacher - Middle School Visual Arts

JOB DESCRIPTION:

To create a flexible middle school grade program and a class environment favorable to learning and personal growth; establish effective rapport with pupils; motivate pupils to develop skills, attitudes and knowledge needed to provide a good foundation in accordance with each pupil's ability; establish good relationships with parents and with other staff members.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Bachelor Degree
Arizona Elementary and/or Secondary Certification with PreK12 Art Education Endorsement
PreK12 Art Education Certificate
SEI or full Bilingual or ESL endorsement

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Demonstrate teaching skills and knowledge in visual arts
Develop lesson plans and instructional materials and provide individualized and small group instruction in order to adapt the curriculum to the needs of each pupil.
Evaluate pupil's academic and social growth, keep appropriate records, and prepare progress reports.
Communicate with parents through conferences and other means to discuss pupil's progress and interpret the school program.
Identify pupil needs and cooperate with other professional staff members in assessing and helping pupils solve health, attitude and learning problems.
Create an effective and safe learning environment
Maintain professional competence through inservice professional development activities provided by the district and/or selfselected professional growth activities.
Select and requisition instructional aids and materials; maintain required inventory records.
Perform other duties as assigned.
