The Entertainment Technician will be responsible for ensuring smooth technical operations of audio and production elements of UnCommon Stage for the season.

The Entertainment Technician will be responsible for daily oversight of the technical equipment for The Emerson unCommon Stage, an outside performance venue which will feature multiple daily performances ranging from live music,

poetry, dance, comedy, and other forms of live entertainment.

The Entertainment Technician will be responsible for supporting technical aspects of events and performances and ensuring smooth technical operations during their shifts.

***The Production Supervisor will be responsible for ensuring smooth technical operations and the weekly scheduling of Entertainment Technicians for the season. The Production Supervisor will be responsible for the oversight of production staff and technical equipment for The Emerson unCommon Stage, an outside performance venue which will feature multiple daily performances ranging from live music, poetry, dance, comedy, and other forms of live entertainment. The Production Supervisor will be responsible for advancing technical aspects of events and performances, scheduling appropriate crew for daily events, and ensuring smooth technical operations during the 6-month season.


ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES

  • Work directly with artists who will be performing on the unCommon Stage to determine how their technical needs can be accommodated within the available technical support of the venue
  • Manage the personnel and equipment logistics to accommodate the difference in technical needs between artists to ensure seamless transitions between performances
  • Schedule technicians in an efficient manner in order to optimize support in space
  • Set up and operate a small, reinforcement based sound system as needed
  • Assist with artist load in, setup, and load out equipment as needed
  • Ensure the smooth operation of shows and events in the venue with a focus on safety and production values
  • Communicate with artists and ArtsEmerson Producer in advance of performances to ensure that technical needs are discussed and agreed upon and are reasonable for both the artist and the venue
  • Communicate clear and accurate information to all parties to ensure successful events
  • Ensure that venue operations comply with all city guidelines including SPL limits
  • Plan for efficient changeovers between events
  • Create, maintain, and distribute event paperwork for the venue team and artists
  • Create and maintain operational paperwork to ensure clear documentation for future seasons

QUALIFICATIONS:


  • Qualifications are deemed required or preferred and represent what is needed to effectively perform job.
  • Bachelor's degree or 4 years' experience in live event supervision and crew management
  • Experience with small scale digital mixers and mixing on a tablet.
  • Experience engaging outside theatrical/live event vendors.
  • Outdoor festival/live venue technical supervisory experience
  • Experience advancing and coordinating small outside events and performances.
  • Experience scheduling and managing people in a live event context.

  • Experience mixing live events of various sizes.
  • An understanding of signal flow.
  • Ability to troubleshoot and perform basic maintenance and repair work.
  • Ability to ensure a safe, clear and welcoming environment.
  • Ability to work outside and stand for long periods of time.
  • Ability to work some nights and weekends.

Compensation for this position will be between $ $ 25.90 hourly, commensurate with experience.
