***The Avionics Technician is responsible for the repair and maintenance of an aircraft's electronic instruments, including communication, navigation, and flight control systems that power the aircraft, as well as the wiring that connects them. A successful Avionics Technician will install, inspect, test, and repair the avionics equipment and electronics.


JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Work independently or as part of a team to resolve electrical and avionicsrelated problems
  • Perform typical maintenance, installation, and repair of aircraft electrical and avionics wiring harnesses, components, and systems per specifications, drawings, and maintenance manuals
  • Conduct functional and operational tests to evaluate performance and reliability. Set up and operate necessary test equipment as required
  • Assist with troubleshooting and repair of aircraft electrical and avionics components, wiring harnesses, sensors, and weapons systems
  • Ensure all work is documented using IAW Repair Station manuals, processes, and procedures
  • Manufacture and modify wiring harnesses and RF cabling using acceptable practices
  • Solder electrical and electronic connections and components
  • Support experimental, environmental, operational, ground, flight and stress tests on models, prototypes, and products as required
  • Under supervision, analyze and reconcile engineering drawings and system schematics

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs.
  • Ability to operate in a clerical setting, routinely using standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets, etc.
  • Ability to walk, stand, squat, crouch, stoop, lift, climb, pull, push, sit, kneel and participate in repetitive motion
  • Ability to distinguish colors
  • Ability to work with small objects requiring good handeye coordination and dexterity

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE & EXPERIENCE

  • 12 years of electrical and avionics troubleshooting, harness assembly, cable assembly, and/or quality control experience
  • Experience in disassembly and reassembly of aircraft interiors
  • Ability to read wiring diagrams, schematics, and technical drawings
  • Familiarity with military and commercial electrical interconnects and required tooling
  • Skilled in time management and project management
  • Able to work both independently and as part of a team

PREFERRED KNOWLEDGE & EXPERIENCE

  • 12 years of Part 145 Repair Station experience
  • Familiarity with AC 43.13, AS50881, FAR Handbook for Aviation Maintenance Technicians, and IPC/WHMA-A620
  • Experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Proficient knowledge of repair, manufacturing, and purchase orders systems using an ERP system
  • Working knowledge of an enterprise resource planning (ERP) software
  • Proficient in multitasking with a high degree of accuracy in order to complete different projects at the same time

EDUCATION

  • High School diploma or equivalent required
  • Associate degree or technical school and/or military electrical/avionics school preferred
  • FAA A&P License preferred
  • FCC License preferred
  • IPC Certification Training preferred

SECURITY CLEARANCE REQUIREMENT

  • Subject to a security investigation and may need to meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information. A SECRET, TS, or TS/SCI clearance may be required.

Pay:
From $52,000.00 per year
