Salary Range:
$24.00 to $30.00 per hour.


SUMMARY
The Jr. Engineering Technician is an entry level position in the Mechanical Engineering Team. The Technician will assist with Product Development to design, build, test, and inspect products.


ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Assist Sr Mechanical Engineer in all designing and drawing
  • Communicate with PDD, EE, and ID groups in ensuring all mechanical designs or changes meets customer's requirement
  • Produce and review product specifications for vendors based on mechanical drawings and established standards
  • Mechanical testing includes fitting, function, force, thermal, vibration, and shock tests
  • Investigate product failures and analyze possible solutions
  • Communicate with the vendor with a change request and ensure changes are carried out.
  • Transform ideas and requirements to 2D and 3D mechanical drawings using Computer-Aided Design (CAD) software, i.e., Pro/E or Solidworks with uptodate drawing techniques
  • Organize and check safety testing reports to confirm compliance with global safety requirements
  • Follow ISO/TL9000 requirements as it pertains to the position

REQUIRED EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor of Science Degree in Mechanical Engineering
  • Knowledge in Creo Parametric, Autocad, and Solidworks
  • Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)

SKILLS

  • Bilingual preferred, English/Mandarin
  • Able to execute responsibilities with mínimal supervision
  • Analytical mind and thought process
  • Selfmotivated and able to handle heavy workloads and deadlines
  • Be able to work as a team member
  • Detailoriented
  • Good communications skills
  • Follow ISO/TL9000 requirements as it pertains to the position

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY
This position has no supervisory responsibility


WORK ENVIRONMENT
This position operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, and filing cabinets.


PHYSICAL DEMANDS

This is largely a sedentary role; however, some filing is required. This would require the ability to lift files, open filing cabinets and bend or stand as necessary.

POSITION TYPE AND EXPECTED HOURS OF WORK
This is a full-time, on-site position. Normal business days are Monday through Friday. Work hours will be assigned in advance.


TRAVEL
No travel is expected for this position
