Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Director of Nursing to join our healthcare team.
As the Director of Nursing, you will be responsible for overseeing and managing all aspects of nursing services within our facility.
This is a leadership role that requires strong clinical knowledge, excellent communication skills, and the ability to effectively manage a team.
Responsibilities:
- Manage and supervise nursing staff, ensuring quality care and adherence to resident rights and regulatory requirements
- Develop and implement nursing policies, procedures, and protocols to ensure the delivery of safe and effective care
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to coordinate patient care and ensure continuity of care
- Provide leadership and guidance to nursing staff, promoting professional growth and development
- Monitor and evaluate the performance of nursing staff, providing feedback and implementing corrective actions as necessary
- Ensure compliance with all applicable laws, regulations, and standards, including HIPAA
- Oversee the management of medications, treatments, and medical equipment
- Collaborate with physicians and other healthcare providers to develop individualized care plans for patients
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient outcomes
- Stay updated on current trends and advancements in nursing practice
Skills:
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to effectively manage a team
- Knowledge of hospice care, acute care, medical terminology, anatomy, and home health services
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
- Proficient in shift management and scheduling
- Ability to prioritize tasks and make sound decisions in a fastpaced environment
- Familiarity with HIPAA regulations
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Nursing (BSN) required; RN Required, Master's degree in Nursing or Healthcare Administration preferred
- Valid nursing license in the state of Texas
- Minimum 2 years of experience in nursing leadership roles
- Proven experience in managing nursing staff and overseeing patient care services
