Overview:
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Medical Biller to join our team.
As a Medical Biller, you will be responsible for accurately coding and billing medical procedures, ensuring timely reimbursement from insurance companies, and maintaining accurate patient records.
This is a vital role in our healthcare organization, as it directly impacts the financial health of our practice.Duties:
- Review and verify medical documentation for accuracy and completeness
- Assign appropriate medical codes (e.g., ICD10, DRG) to procedures and diagnoses
- Prepare and submit electronic or paper claims to insurance companies
- Follow up on unpaid or denied claims, and appeal as necessary
- Coordinate with insurance companies to resolve billing discrepancies or issues
- Maintain accurate patient records and billing information
- Provide exceptional customer service to patients regarding billing inquiries or concerns
- Stay uptodate with changes in medical coding regulations and compliance requirements
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure accurate billing practices
Requirements:
- Proven experience as a Medical Biller or in a similar role
- Proficient in medical coding systems (e.g., ICD10) and terminology
- Knowledge of medical billing processes, including claim submission and reimbursement procedures
- Familiarity with medical collection systems and practices
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in coding and billing procedures
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively
- Ability to work independently and meet deadlines in a fastpaced environment
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, for effective interaction with patients, insurance companies, and healthcare professionals
Note:
Certification in medical billing or related field is preferred but not required.
