    Who We Are:
    We are responsible for continual advancement and support of our internally developed software platform and automation system called Mo


    SAIC:
    Modular System for Automation, Instrumentation and Control.

    MoSAIC enables projects for R&D testing of electro-mechanical systems and components, such as vehicle battery packs, electric motors, electric vehicles, internal combustion engines, automotive drivetrains, gensets, locomotives, driving vehicles on test tracks, and a large variety of other interesting use cases.


    Objectives of this Role:


    Work with a team of data acquisition, instrumentation, and controls experts to perform software development and deployment to support data collection and test system control for a wide variety of test systems across a 300+ person laboratory.

    Apply knowledge of the following phases of system/software integration: Requirements Gathering and Analysis, System Design, Development, Integration and Testing, Acceptance, System Installation, Deployment, Maintenance, Troubleshooting, and Data Security

    Work alongside senior developers in creation of software tools to integrate data-collection and controls to meet interesting and challenging laboratory test needs.


    Daily and Monthly Responsibilities:


    Work independently and with a team to develop/support applications that are required to control test articles in R&D testing environments.

    The working environment will include office as well as laboratory/field assignments.

    Capture user requirements and analyze user needs and software requirements to determine feasibility of design within time and cost constraints; ensure user and customer stakeholder satisfaction with the end product software application.

    Respond in a positive and timely manner to suggestions for software modifications or enhancements, and work with customers and other technical staff in resolving software, hardware, operating system, or networking issues.

    Responsibilities may also include operating system and hardware configuration; provide technical assessments and recommend a best course of action, with justification, to other members of the development team/technical staff.

    Primary job function is located at SwRI main campus in San Antonio, Texas. Travel required on an as-needed basis to conduct project work.

    Requirements:
    Requires a Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or other similar Engineering degree with LabVIEW experience.
    0-5 years: Must have LabVIEW development experience and expertise
    NI Certified LabVIEW Developer (CLD) at a minimum and if none, must be willing and able to obtain CLD certification within 2 years of start of employment
    Must have sufficient communication skills.

    Must have working knowledge of the following phases of system/software integration: Requirements Gathering and Analysis, System Design, Development, Integration and Testing, Acceptance, System Installation, Deployment, Maintenance, Troubleshooting, and Data Security.

    A valid/clear driver's license is required.
