- A demonstrable interest and engagement in the topics of health and healing.
- An ability to honor and work with all identities and individuals, particularly those whose stories are undertold in healthcare institutions.
- Solid writing skills and an understanding of how grants work
- A preference, but not a requirement, for LC students who a) have worked with Project Koru on prior projects or have an interest in nonprofit entrepreneurship and/or b) for RMS Majors with confidence in their written professional communication skills.
- Support Programs
- Work with PK's program coordinator on programmatic initiatives
- Summer intern will work on improving the Case Statement that PK uses for their grant work and look for, find and develop grant opportunities.
- At the conclusion of the internship, share lessons and learnings from the experience back with the LC community.
- Other tasks as assigned.
- Internship will be funded for 12 hours/week for 10 weeks between mid-May to mid-August.
- Schedule will include a regular supervisory meeting with: Executive Director Beth Peck and Programs Coordinator Jesse Eriksen.
- This position is remote.
- Regular weekly schedule is communicated and mutually agreed upon by LC Intern and community partner.
- Paid hourly minimum wage in accordance with Portland, Oregon metro area rates: $15.45/hr
- Internship hours will be paid directly through Lewis & Clark College and submitted weekly in Workday for review and approval.

Project Koru is a community of young adult cancer survivors that help each other on their toughest challenge yet: life beyond cancer. Project Koru enriches lives through community and the outdoors as a way to move forward beyond cancer. Our goal is to help survivors reclaim and rediscover the best version of their life and themselves.
