    Description

    We are currently seeking an Associate Actuary for Milliman's Seattle Health Practice!

    About the Company:

    Milliman's Seattle Health Practice provides services to a diverse range of organizations, such as insurance companies, health plans, government agencies, healthcare providers, reinsurance companies, and employers. The team consists of over 150 actuarial professionals along with healthcare consultants, IT, Administrative, and other staff.

    Job Responsibilities:

    • Perform analysis of healthcare data
    • Write reports explaining technical concepts clearly
    • Manage projects within expected budgets
    • Supervise actuarial students in project technical aspects
    • Develop skills in managing client relationships

    Qualifications:

    Professional Qualifications:

    • Bachelor's degree in mathematics, statistics, economics, or related field
    • Four or more years of healthcare actuarial experience

    Preferred Experience in:

    • Medicaid rate-setting
    • Reserving and year-end statutory financials
    • ACA pricing/rate filing
    • Medicare Advantage, bid development, and revenue mechanisms
    • Value-based provider contracting
    • Employer stop-loss and reinsurance pricing
    • Presenting technical concepts to a non-technical audience
    • Understanding of the US healthcare system
    • Proficiency in Excel
    • Knowledge of SAS, SQL, or R

    Personal Qualifications:

    • Excellent verbal and written communication
    • Ability to work independently and in a team
    • Proven ability to thrive in a fast-paced client-focused environment

    Location:

    This position is based at the Milliman office in Seattle, WA. Remote candidates in the US will also be considered.

    Compensation:

    The salary range is $84,000 - $176,000 with additional bonuses based on billable hours and work managed.
