    Title: Sr. Mechanical Engineer

    Salary: K

    Location: Charlotte (Pineville) - onsite Monday through Friday with typical 8am-5pm hours.

    *Direct Hire*

    The Sr. Mechanical Engineer provides design of systems and equipment associated with the design and construction of plants and new technology initiatives.

    Duties/Responsibilities:

    • Perform designs and mechanical analyses through calculations basic to Mechanical Engineering with direction from leadership and senior personnel.
    • Sketch conceptual designs, transferring ideas to the designers for development of mechanical drawings.
    • Provide technical support for the Aftermarket, Inspections, & Purchasing departments with review of vendor submittals and on-site inspections of mechanical equipment.
    • Provide direction and technical support for designers.
    • Analyze designed and vendor supplied equipment for adherence to engineering specifications, required codes and standards, and project requirements.
    • Check drawings and drafting for adherence to designs.
    • Review designs and assist Management by making suggestions to improve an existing or proposed design relative to its function.
    • Travel to fabrication workshops and job sites to analyze equipment, collect data and information, interact with plant & fabricator personnel, perform on-site inspections, etc.
    • Travel on business trips and/or field assignments as required
    • Write Technical Specifications for mechanical equipment design, fabrication, procurement, etc.
    • Work as a teammate with all company departments and employees in all assignments.
    • Coordinate projects with outside engineering consultants and Clients.
    • Propose and design equipment design improvements.

    Skills/Abilities:

    • Intermediate to advanced computer skills including use of Microsoft and Autodesk products.
    • Excellent technical writing and interpersonal skills.
    • Ability to meet schedule and deliverable deadlines.
    • Excellent base of mechanical engineering technical skills and knowledge of processes.

    Education and Experience:

    • Bachelor of Science Mechanical or Industrial Engineering Degree; Bachelor of Science Mechanical or Industrial Engineering Technology Degree.

    Supervisory Responsibilities:

    • Experienced applicants may have the opportunity to act as mechanical discipline lead providing technical support for various projects and initiatives.

    Preferred:

    • International travel experience.
    • Industrial plant experience.
    • Computer aided simulation/analysis of Mechanical Equipment designs (FEA, CFD, Heat Transfer, etc.)
    • Utilize design software for piping and gas system analysis/layout.
    • Design and troubleshooting of hydraulic systems.
    • Piping design and stress analysis including selection of pipe hangers and supports.
    • Material Handling system specification, layout, and design.
    • Water Treatment systems specification, layout, and design.
    • Specification, startup, and troubleshooting of water pump systems.

    Travel Requirements:

    • May need to travel up to 10% - 25% International and Domestic based upon project demands
