    As a Payroll Analyst you will be responsible for the following:

    • Oversee and audit timely and accurate processing of companywide payroll.
    • Provide expertise in processing payroll in accordance with UTA policies and standard operating procedures, the collective bargaining agreement, and state and federal regulations
    • Manage garnishment, leave balances, and payroll inquiries and discrepancies.
    • Work with management on the analysis, creation, and closures of year-end, responding to payroll audits, and tax filing.
    • Maintains a complete knowledge of the ERP payroll system.

    Minimum Qualifications

    EDUCATION/TRAINING

    • Associates degree in Accounting, or related field. Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) designation preferred.



    EXPERIENCE

    Three years previous job-related work experience reviewing, administering, and processing the complete payroll function using an ERP system for a minimum of 500 employees. Experience working in a union environment preferred. This job requires an annual credit check

    KNOWLEDGE

    • Strong knowledge of database administration and maintenance.
    • Thorough knowledge of state and federal payroll and tax regulations.
    • Accounting as it relates to payroll and payroll liabilities.
    • Current payroll law and best practices, including but not limited to FLSA, tax levy, garnishment calculation, etc.
    • Database administration and maintenance.
    • Report writing, preferably Crystal Reports.
    • Year-end payroll processes including issuance of W-2s, tax filing.
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with an emphasis on customer service.
    • Type 30 WPM
    • 10-key 5,000 KPH
    • JDE and/or Oracle experience preferred
    • Beginner level proficiency in Microsoft Word preferred
    • Intermediate level proficiency in Microsoft Excel preferred

    ABILITIES:

    • Multi-task while working under time-constraints.
    • Interpret contracts, policies and procedures, and legal documents related to payroll and/or union relations.
