  • The Norfolk Community Services Board (NCSB) provides treatment, support, and education to the community with a focus on mental illness, substance use disorders, and intellectual/developmental disabilities. Norfolk CSB provides services to persons in acute crisis as well as integrated, personcentered, and recoveryoriented programming for persons needing assistance and support stabilizing in the community.

  • The NCSB is currently seeking an Accounting Technician II in their Administrative Service/Finance division. The Accounting Technician II role is situated within the Finance Department of NCSB and will primarily entail working in an officetype environment. It necessitates adept management of numerous concurrent work priorities within a timerestricted setting. Additionally, flexibility in scheduling is required to accommodate deadlines as and when necessary.


The Accounting Technician II performs entry-level professional work related to maintaining financial information and preparing financial statements in a health care environment with multiple funding sources and service components.

Processes accounts payable, accounts receivable and general accounting documents.


Departmental Hiring Salary Range:
$39,837- $45,

Essential Functions:Essential functions include but are not limited to:

  • Prepares accounts payable and purchasing documents, reviews for accuracy and approval, and posts in accounting system.
  • Prepares and posts journal entries involving expenditure and revenue items to the general ledger.
  • Analyzes financial data and prepares reports.
  • Sorts and distributes unit mail.
  • Maintains financial files.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Education/Experience:


  • Work requires knowledge of a specific vocational, administrative, or technical nature which may be obtained with six months/one year of advanced study or training past the high school equivalency. Junior college, vocational, business, technical or correspondence schools are likely sources. Appropriate certification may be awarded upon satisfactory completion of advanced study or training.
  • Two years experience in bookkeeping or accounting.

Preferred Education/Experience:

  • High School or GED and one to two years related work experience in accounting, finance or business environment.

Additional Information & Requirements:


  • Valid Driver's License may be required depending on assignment.
  • Possession of a valid driver's license and acceptable driving record as reported by the Department of Motor Vehicles is preferred.
  • Signing Bonus: This position is eligible for a onetime $5,000 signing bonus.
