Surgical Coordinator - Miami, United States - Yavagal Urogynecology

Job Summary:

Responsibilities:

• Coordinate surgical procedures by scheduling surgeries, preoperative appointments, and postoperative followups
• Obtain necessary patient information and medical history for surgical procedures
• Communicate with patients, surgeons, and other healthcare professionals to ensure all necessary documentation is completed accurately and in a timely manner
• Verify insurance coverage and obtain preauthorization for surgical procedures
• Maintain patient confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA regulations
• Utilize electronic medical record systems (such as Epic or eClinicalWorks) to document patient information and update records as necessary
• Assist with medical billing and coding related to surgical procedures
• Provide excellent customer service by answering phone calls, responding to inquiries, and addressing patient concerns
• Collaborate with other members of the healthcare team to ensure efficient workflow and optimal patient care

Requirements:

• High school diploma or equivalent; additional education or certification in medical administration is preferred
• Proven experience in a similar role, preferably in a surgical or medical setting or eagerness to learn
• Knowledge of medical terminology and procedures related to surgery
• Familiarity with electronic medical record systems (such as Epic or eClinicalWorks)
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to multitask and prioritize tasks effectively
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
• Proficient in using phone systems and other office equipment
• Ability to maintain professionalism while working in a fastpaced environment
