SUMMARY

Billing Business Office Staff Member_

Responsibilities of the Business Office Staff Member include (but are not limited to):
filing and processing insurance claims and payments, preparing reports for daily closing procedure, and handling collections for overdue accounts.


The Business Office Staff Member must possess the ability to communicate effectively with his/her team and other departments, while also maintaining discretion and professionalism in working with patients' financial information.


General

  • Answers calls, respond to requests, and solve problems transferred from other departments
  • Prepares reports (daily deposit, transfers, daily close, aging) and ensures accuracy in entries
  • Complies with OSHA, HIPAA security, privacy policies, and workplace safety guidelines at all times

Insurance

  • Updates insurance information and files all insurance claims with current information
  • Processes all insurance payments and refunds to insurance companies

Billing

  • Processes personal payments and refunds to patients
  • Reviews billing statements and sends to patients via mail
  • Sets up budgets and payment arrangements when necessary

Collections

  • Makes phone calls to patients regarding overdue accounts
  • Sends follow up letters when necessary
  • Reports accounts to collections if needed

QUALIFICATIONS
Two to three years of dental billing or similar experience is preferred for this position.

Dental Billing/AR: 2 years (preferred)




Schedule:
In Office position only

Full-time Monday to Friday (if office)
or (4) ten hour work days
