  • Salary range: $62, $62, NYCHA's Treasury Department is seeking an experienced Bookkeeper with 15 years of experience in fixed income investments (purchasing, performance measurement, reconciliations, reporting).
  • Primary Responsibilities:
  • Perform computations and examine reports to verify collateral coverage for deposit balances per HUD requirements.
  • Maintain and post general ledger entries for Treasury activities according to established account classifications, including but not limited to:
  • Investment purchases, sales and maturities
  • Interest accruals and collections
  • Provide monthly reconciliations including but not limited to:
  • Confirmation and variance analysis for all investments
  • Approval for accounting journal entries
  • Perform calculation to allocation Payroll by funding source and department and book associated journal entries.
  • Monitor, record and reconcile securities custodian account activity and timely payment of debt service/loan obligations.
  • Support Deputy Director in the investment of Tenant Security Deposits.
  • Special projects/analysis as assigned by Deputy Director.

Secondary Responsibilities:

  • Support investment decisions by compiling data on rates from counterparties and Bloomberg.
  • Support custody account opening and closing activity.
  • Monitor credit rating of NYCHA's investments to ensure compliance with HUD requirements.

  • Minimum Qualifications(1) Completion of 30 semester credits from an accredited college or university, accredited by regional, national, professional or specialized agencies recognized as accrediting bodies by the U.S. Secretary of Education and the Council for Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA), including 6 credits in accounting; or
(2) A four-year high school diploma or its educational equivalent approved by a State's Department of Education or a recognized accrediting organization, and two years of satisfactory full-time bookkeeping experience; or

To be eligible for placement in Assignment Level III individuals must have, in addition to meeting the minimum requirements, at least one year of experience as a Bookkeeper or at least four years of satisfactory full-time bookkeeping experience.

Preferred Skills- BA in Finance or Accounting - 1-5 years of experience in Investments arena - Experience with the fixed income instruments: money markets, Treasury and Agency Securities - Strong analytical and communication skills - Advanced Excel (lookups, pivot tables) - Experience with Bloomberg and
