Description

The USC School of Architecture is seeking an Assistant Director who will be responsible for managing all admission and communication processes for the school's graduate applicants.

This position will also manage one full time admission coordinator.

The Assistant Director is an exempt position. Work is conducted at the USC School of Architecture located on the USC campus in Los Angeles, California.

RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES
Recruitment and Outreach

  • Plan and execute graduate recruitment programs to include oncampus, offcampus and virtual outreach events. Manages the efforts of faculty members, volunteers, students and/or student groups and other admission staff to implement plans. Assesses effectiveness of efforts and modifies as needed.
  • Ability to travel locally and domestically for recruitment events, including weekends and evenings.
  • Serves as information resource for the university community. Identifies opportunities to increase program visibility.
Admission and Scholarship

  • Reviews student records, inputs data, and generates letters and/or lists utilizing the student database.
  • Prepares informational materials often enlisting input or contributions from others such as faculty.
  • Maintains currency on university policies affecting admissions and transfer credit evaluation.
  • Oversees and monitors the input of student financial awards into the University system and tracks progress toward the award requirement.
  • Oversees and monitors the progress of conditions of admissions of enrolled students and maintains tracking information regarding students' English Language requirements.
Yield and Conversion

  • Plan and execute inperson and virtual conversion events.
  • Oversees the work of one Admission Coordinator.
  • Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS

  • Experience in a university setting; either undergraduate, graduate enrollment management, admission, scholarships, admission services is required.
  • Possess a strategic understanding of graduate admission and scholarship operations.
  • Ability to use and analyze data, create reports, spreadsheets, electronic presentation software in order to make and communicate data driven decisions.
  • Must be able to work with various constituencies including prospective students, current students, alumni, faculty, and staff.
  • Strong interpersonal communication skills, the ability to maintain effective working relationships with students, faculty and staff and excellent decisionmaking, timemanagement, and planning skills.
  • Ability to work in a fastpaced work environment. Ability to learn quickly, thoroughly, and in detail. Must recognize and adjust to change.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously; follow through and meet deadlines.
  • Ability to exercise independent judgment.
  • Strong computer skills including proficiency with Microsoft Excel are required as well as cloudbased systems: Google Drive, One Drive, Microsoft Office Teams.

Minimum education:
Bachelor's degree
