Description

Under the general direction of the Manager of the Central Resource Group (or the Nursing Supervisor), the incumbent is responsible for assessing 24-hour nursing staff based upon information gathered from a variety of sources.

Assures staffing resources and nursing unit needs are appropriately matched on a weekly, daily, and shift-by-shift basis. Insures accurate information in the nurse scheduling system for transfer to payroll nightly. Records, processes, and maintains scheduling and staffing information for Department of Nursing in the Medical Center.

Collaborates with staffing coordinators at respective sites:
Parnassus and Mission Bay.

Rotation to both Parnassus and Mission Bay may be required to cover operational needs, such as:
vacation, sick calls, at either campus site.


For roles covered by a bargaining unit agreement, there will be specific rules about where a new hire would be placed on the range.


Required Qualifications

  • HS Diploma or GED
  • Two years related experience.
  • Basic understanding of medical terminology.
  • Knowledge and understanding of medical specialties.
  • Good communication skills, written and oral.
  • Good interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent computer skills.
  • Good critical thinking skills
