A family is seeking a professional with a special education/teaching and/or occupational therapy background to work as a Personal/Activities Assistant for their young adult daughter with special needs who lives in New Haven, CT.

Responsibilities:

• Driving to grocery store, bank, CVS, etc. to assist with daily errands
• Drive to and from young adult's parttime job
• Some cooking and meal preparation
• Assistance with medications and apartment chores
• Plan and participate in fun activities on the weekends

Qualifications:

• Warm, nurturing, supportive personality
• Must be responsible, reliable, timely
• A genuine interest in and professional experience working with someone with special needs
• College education
• Excellent verbal communication skills
• Stellar driving record
• Safe, reliable transportation
• Ability to work 20 hours per week in a flexible, adaptable schedule that may change somewhat weektoweek
• Teaching experience preferred
