    Description


    The Cadence Solutions team seeks a Senior Security Operations Engineer to join our Security Team and serve as the company's trusted information security advisor.

    You will work to identify threats against our organization and figure out how to thwart and mitigate them to protect Cadence from internal and outside threats.

    This role will play a pivotal role in establishing our security operations function.

    Your expertise will be instrumental in educating the organization on security best practices, identifying potential risks, and implementing effective strategies to mitigate and contain these risks.

    The ability to drive change and champion the adoption of innovative security practices is paramount.

    WHAT YOU'


    LL DO:


    Provide strategic guidance that informs the roadmap for building the security operations function at Cadence which will protect our infrastructure, endpoints, SaaS stack, and people.


    Work across Cadence to influence positive security change while balancing the company's need to maintain speed of innovation and productivity.


    Oversee the monitoring of systems, logs, and alerts to detect and be the first responder to suspicious behavior and threats.

    Architect and continuously improve our security technology stack, processes, and procedures.

    Develop, and simulate, incident response plans and runbooks to enhance preparedness.

    Stay updated, and also update the company, on the latest threats to inform and influence proactive security measures.

    Continually assess and advise on our attack surface to mitigate security risks.

    Conduct risk assessments to support our risk management process.

    Partner with IT and Engineering to implement security hardening, tools, and controls for our endpoints and infrastructure.


    WHO YOU ARE:
    4+ years prior experience as a security operations engineer or similar security role.

    Cloud native security experience (AWS preferred).

    High proficiency with security tools like SIEM, EDR, CSPM, SEG, CASB; ability to deploy, configure, and manage these tools.

    High proficiency with AWS Cloud Security

    Prior experience in a high-growth, fast-paced startup environment.

    Experience securing data across Cloud and SaaS resources.

    Obsessive focus on understanding threat vectors and what poses a risk for our organization.

    Fluency in threat modeling and ability to interpret risk for different audiences.

    Extensive experience with incident response procedures and developing playbooks.

    Collaborative and able to work across multiple teams.

    Capable of understanding competing priorities within a fast-paced environment and the ability to effectively prioritize.

    Action and results oriented with demonstrated ability to proactively problem solve.

    Familiarity with source code management tools (e.g., Github, Bitbucket).

    You possess working skill in at least one programming general purpose language (Java, XML, XSLT, Python).
