We specialize in the construction of transportation systems for railroad and airport infrastructure including fiber optics, traction power, copper communications, electrical distribution, CCTV, and life safety systems among others.
We are currently seeking a
Safety Coordinator who is hands-on, eager for knowledge, and critical thinkers to join our growing company as part of a multi-discipline team.
Description
- Report directly to the Safety Manager for the duration of the Contract to manage safety and security matters at that Work Site. The Safety Coordinators shall be independent of the physical construction effort and shall be available fulltime to fulfill the requirements of the Contract. The Safety Coordinators shall have the authority to stop work if they determine that Unsafe Conditions are present.
- The Safety Coordinator shall be responsible for the safe performance of all those under their jurisdiction, shall inform such employees of all potential hazards before they begin Work, and shall promptly advise their immediate supervisor of any employees who resist correction and/or fail to improve their unsafe work practices.
- Safety Coordinator Responsibilities.
- Report to the Safety Manager for daily Work activities.
- Perform safety checks.
- Document any safety findings and corrective actions taken.
- Complete Daily Safety Reports.
- Document any near misses or accidents.
- Communicate with all designated Competent Persons before, during, and after completion of their work shifts.
- Safety Coordinator Qualifications.
- NYCT, SIR LIRR,
MNR, Amtrak Track Safety trained as appropriate. - A minimum of ninety (90) days prior ROW experience including flagging and diversions of service.
- Successful completion of the 40hour NYC Department of Buildings Site Safety Manager Course and license.
- Successful completion of the 30hour OSHA Construction Safety & Health (29 CFR 1926) Course.
- Active member of the American Society of Safety Professionals (ASSP).
- Minimum two (2) years of safety or safetyrelated experience.
- Familiarity with the type of work being performed.
- Competent in instructing onsite personnel.
- Able to read, write, and speak English fluently.
- Possess and maintain a current State of New York or State of Connecticut (as appropriate) Asbestos Inspectors License.
- Possess and maintain a current C3/C5 Supervisor / Competent Person Training for Deleading of Industrial Structures Certificate.
- Training. The Safety Coordinators shall receive a minimum of six (6) hours of relevant safety training courses on a yearly basis for the duration of the Contract.
- The Safety Coordinators shall exclusively be responsible for safety matters related to the Work Site for which they are appointed and shall not have any other responsibilities associated with this Contract.
Salary:
$61, $66,702.00 per year

Schedule:
- 8 hour shift
- Monday to Friday
Experience:
Construction Safety Coordinator: 2 years (required)
- NYCT, SIR LIRR, MNR, Amtrak Track Safety trained: 1 year (required)

- Construction Safety & Health: 1 year (required)
- 29 CFR 1926: 1 year (required)
- American Society of Safety Professionals (ASSP): 1 year (required)
License/Certification:

Ability to Relocate:
