- Assists in direct supervision, orientation, education, competency verification, performance evaluation, and awards/recognition for the professional nursing and support staff on the unit.
- Assists in plan/adjust work assignments and operations to meet agency and organizational objectives, priorities, deadline, and standards of care with regulatory agencies and Indian Health Service requirements.
- Evaluate operations related to patient flow, patient safety, productivity and unit specific performance improvement plan to maintain quality improvement and staff participation/communication in the unit.
- Performs nursing care duties as needed to maintain nursing skills and clinical competence and expertise in specialty area, and cover nursing shortages.
- Provide advice and assistance to subordinate personnel on work and administrative matters.
- Participate in program, policy and procedure development in areas such as Quality Improvement and Infection control.
