    Description

    Quality Engineer - Intermediate

    Sterling Heights, MI

    Job Description:

    The Quality Engineer ensures products and processes meet set quality standards by identifying issues, developing solutions, and implementing quality control systems. The ideal Quality Engineer should possess strong troubleshooting skills to ensure consistent quality standards are maintained or exceeded.

    Main Responsibilities:

    • Conduct root cause analysis of quality issues using statistical and advanced problem-solving tools
    • Suggest and execute cost-effective permanent corrective actions
    • Analyze quality data to ensure consistency from various sources
    • Collaborate with Engineering, Manufacturing, and Suppliers to resolve uncontrollable issues
    • Oversee engineering changes and ensure timely implementation
    • Evaluate product changes before full implementation
    • Validate rework procedures
    • Develop inspection procedures and best practices

    Requirements:

    • MUST BE ABLE TO WORK VARIOUS SHIFTS
    • Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial Engineering, or related field
    • Minimum 2 years experience in Automotive or Manufacturing Engineering Quality
    • Proficient in problem-solving tools and statistics
    • Strong skills in MS Office & G-Suite
    • Effective presentation skills
    • Experience coaching and teaching
    • Excellent written and verbal communication
    • Adaptability to fast-paced environments
    • Willingness to work non-standard hours if necessary
    • Self-motivated
    • Valid driver's license and clean record required

    Preferred Qualifications:

    • Advanced degree
    • Experience with BIW commodity
    • Knowledge in assembly line design, testing, and assembly
    • Experience in a union environment
    • Background in LEAN manufacturing or World Class Manufacturing (WCM)
    • Applicable work experience
