    Position Description:

    The IDEAL School of Manhattan is in search of a skilled, passionate, and innovative Spanish teacher for a part-time role beginning in August 2023. The ideal candidate will be dedicated to motivating students in an inclusive and nurturing setting, guiding them towards both personal and academic achievements.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Enhance students' Spanish language skills through engaging activities and project-based learning
    • Encourage verbal and written fluency in Spanish
    • Adapt teaching methods to meet the diverse learning needs of students
    • Cultivate a love for language and cultural awareness in students
    • Contribute to extracurricular activities and provide support outside of the classroom
    • Participate in ongoing professional development and collaborate with colleagues
    • Communicate regularly with parents, counselors, and administrators to address student challenges
    • Demonstrate alignment with the school's mission, particularly its dedication to social justice
    • Work effectively as part of a collaborative team

    Requirements:

    • Bachelor's degree required, Master's degree preferred
    • 1-2 years of experience teaching Spanish
    • Understanding of the school's mission and student population
    • Ability to conduct classes primarily in Spanish
    • Excellent communication skills
    • Knowledge of curriculum design and differentiated instruction
    • Capacity to cater to students' varying needs and interests
    • Collaborative mindset and willingness to work in a team

    Preferred Qualifications:

    • Previous experience in an independent school
    • Familiarity with G-Suite tools such as Google Mail and Google Classroom
